Raspberry Pi 500

The Raspberry Pi 500 integrates the heart of the Pi 5 (same Broadcom BCM2712 SoC with ARM Cortex-A76 at 2.4 GHz and same RP1 I/O chip) inside a compact keyboard, rethinking the personal-computer form factor in its most essential shape. It inherits most of the Pi 5's connectivity (dual micro HDMI 4K, dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 and 2.0), but sacrifices the more physical expansion ecosystem: it loses one USB port (taken by the internal keyboard), the MIPI DSI and CSI connectors (Display and Camera Serial Interface, the flat cables for screen and camera) and the native PCIe interface. The 40-pin GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output, programmable digital pins) is still present horizontally on the back, accessible via extension cable to maintain compatibility with HATs (Hardware Attached on Top, standard expansion boards). In exchange it adds an integrated aluminium heatsink that removes the need for a fan under normal loads, a dedicated power button, a Kensington slot for physical anchoring and a 32 GB microSD with Raspberry Pi OS preinstalled. Ready to plug in screen and mouse and start working.
